Letter F Phonics Worksheet — the /f/ sound
The letter F makes the soft /f/ sound you hear at the start of Fish, Frog and Fan. It is a lovely stretchy sound, made by resting your top teeth on your bottom lip and blowing gently, "ffff". Because you can hold it for a long time, it is perfect for practising, "ffff-ish", so your child can really hear the beginning.
This worksheet lets children aged 2 to 7 trace the letter F, say its /f/ sound and match it to bright pictures like a Flower, a Fork and a soft Feather. Try holding the sound and counting how long you can blow it out together, turning the practice into a giggly little game.
