Heart Shape Worksheet for Kids

A heart is a sweet, curvy shape with two rounded bumps at the top and a single point at the bottom. It is not made of straight sides like a square; instead its edges curve gently inwards and outwards, which makes it feel soft and friendly. Children often love the heart because it stands for love and kindness.

When children aged 2 to 7 trace a heart, they practise flowing curves and meeting neatly at the bottom point. This blend of round and pointed movement is wonderful for developing fine motor control and hand steadiness.

Hearts appear in lots of lovely places. A greeting card, a shiny locket, certain leaves on a plant, a heart-shaped balloon, a decorated cookie and a wrapped sweet all show the heart shape. Drawing hearts together is a warm and happy way to share shape learning at home.
